Core Vision Microelectronics’ Single-Photon 1D dToF Chip VI5300 Enters Mass Production

8/5/2021
The VI5300 is a single-photon 1D dToF optical sensor launched by Core Vision Microelectronics. It has entered large-scale mass production and achieved commercial deployment across a wide range of sectors including smartphones, robotic vacuums, and smart home devices.
Based on the direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) ranging principle, the VI5300 adopts a SiP (System-in-Package) design, integrating a SPAD (Single-Photon Avalanche Diode) receiver array and a VCSEL laser emitter internally. This sensor enables precise distance measurement of objects, with accuracy unaffected by object color, reflectivity, or texture, and can operate reliably both in low-light environments and under strong sunlight.
Capable of precise distance measurement up to 4 meters with a ranging frequency of 90Hz, the VI5300 is ideally suited for space-constrained applications such as laser-assisted camera autofocus (LDAF), presence detection, industrial ranging, laser navigation, and inventory monitoring.
